this issue of mnemotope feels especially charged; charged with politics as well as humour, absurdity, gentleness and a vice-grip on the present moment. it seems like all of us are feeling things more profoundly lately - in reading these stories there’s something vital, like when you lay your head on someone’s chest and hear their heartbeat (if you’ll excuse the slightly intimate imagery). getting to share in the vitality and emotion and outrage and stillness and hilarity and chaos within these words reminds us that there are other people living different lives who feel as intensely as we do, and we’re not going mad - or at least, not going mad alone.
