The European Conference on Architecture Policy’s companion public exhibition, DECA, is a group show of original works from ten architects. The work of this group – all of whom have been in self-directed architectural practice for no more than a decade or so and each of whom teaches in Schools of Architecture across the island of Ireland – is presented to the public as a single collection.
This body of work confronts certain challenges faced by contemporary Irish architectural practice, the urgency of climate breakdown, and the importance of documenting our built environment to reaffirm its value for many.
Colin Mac Suibhne, Mandy Channon, Adela Gómez, Bram D’hoedt, Nicci Brock, Ruairí Finucane, Rose Bonner Alexander, Seán Antóin Ó Muirí, Noreile Breen, and Aidan Conway combine their thoughts through text, drawing, model work, and film to represent a critical contemporary voice with competent optimism.
With the generous support of the Department of Social Protection and Bus Éireann, DECA will take place from the 21 to the 28 of November 2026 in Dublin’s Áras Mhic Dhiarmada – the landmark mid-twentieth-century central Dublin bus station and Government department headquarters which asserted Ireland’s entry into international architectural modernism.
