Tony Muggivan is a farmer from County Clare, Ireland. He endeavoured to assist a mentally ill escapee, Brendan O’Donnell, from a detention center in Dublin. All attempts at obtaining medical help were rebuffed, leaving Muggivan and his brother J J to look after O’Donnell. Over the ensuing five-year period, O’Donnell lived rough causing myriad problems for the local inhabitants and the police, clearly demonstrating that he was out of control and ending in tragedy when O’Donnell committed a triple murder.
