Michael Collins is a native of Glenageary, county Dublin Dublin. He studied at St. Conleth’s College, prior to reading Greek and Roman Civilization, History and Philosophy at University College, Dublin. He read theology and trained for the priesthood at Holy Cross College, Clonliffe, and was ordained as a priest in 1985. He has served in a number of parishes and has had the opportunity of following post- graduate studies at the Pontifical Institute of Christian Archaeology in Rome. He later taught at a number of universities in Rome.
