Manchán Magan (20 August 1970 – 2 October 2025) was a writer and documentary-maker. His published work includes books about his travels in Africa, India and South America and two novels. He was an occasional contributor to the The Irish Times on culture and travel, and presented a podcast series broadcaster RTÉ. He has produced many documentaries focused on issues of world culture for TG4, RTÉ, and the Travel Channel. He is a member of the board of Hometree, a native woodland and land regeneration charity, and is an ambassador for The Rivers Trust. He lived for twenty-five years in an oak wood, with bees, hens, and occasionally pigs, in a grass-roofed house near Lough Lene, in Collinstown, Co. Westmeath. Source: Commons
