Larkin Cunningham

Address: Cork

Larkin Cunningham is an Irish crime writer whose novels explore the darker side of human nature. As a child of the seventies and eighties, he witnessed great turmoil in Cork and elsewhere in Ireland. Born to political activist parents, Larkin has a deep cynicism and skepticism that feeds his writing and has shaped the kind of author he is. When he writes, for example, of Special Branch detectives arriving at dawn to raid the family home, he does so from experience, which lends an authenticity to his prose. He goes to great lengths to capture the language and the mood of the characters that inhabit his books.
