John R Bowen

John R Bowen is a board member of the National Museum of Ireland, one of the country’s National Cultural Institutions. He is a Master Warden of the Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin, an independent company established by a Royal Charter of 1637 that is responsible for the assay, or testing for purity, of precious metal objects (gold, silver, platinum etc.) on behalf of the State, and for the application of Irish hallmarks. The Master Warden acts as a non-executive chairman of the Company. The Company is based at The Assay Office, Goldsmiths’ Hall, at Dublin Castle.
