Ishmael A Soledad is from Brisbane in Australia. He has been writing science fiction since the late 1990s, the vast majority of it short and flash fiction. In 2021 his debut novel, Sha’Kert: End of Night, was published through Temple Dark Books , Ireland’s premier speculative fiction house. Sha’Kert: End of Night was followed in April 2025 by the first volume in his new science fiction hexalogy, Descent: Diathesis, also published through Temple Dark Books in Ireland. Volume two in the series. Descent: Death, was released in August of 2026.
