Helena Close was born in Cork in 1959 and grew up in Limerick. She studied English and Sociology at University College Galway and subsequently worked in a variety of jobs while rearing her four children. She is now a full-time writer. Helena has also published four novels under the pseudonym Sarah O’Brien with co-writer, Trisha Rainsford.
