Fiona Gartland has been a journalist with The Irish Times since 2005 and has covered many court cases both criminal and civil. She has been shortlisted for the Irish radio Francis McManus short story competition on half a dozen occasions. Her favourite writers include Claire McIntosh, Paula Hawkins, Andrea Carter and Sarah Vaughan. Her debut novel, In the Court’s Hands, was published by Poolbeg Press in 2018, followed by Now That You’ve Gone in 2019.
