Eoin O'Brien grew up in Dublin. He attended St Conleth’s School and Castleknock College. from which I departed prematurely. He graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1963, specializing as a cardiologist. Although he trained as doctor, his love was for writing and writers and painting and painters. He subsequently became friends with many artists and writers, among them Samuel Becket, about whom he has published two books.
Irish Interest in based on one very simple idea: to bring the contents of any Irish bookshop to people everywhere, especially those outside Ireland who do not have the possibility of keeping abreast of new books published in Ireland.
