Claire-Louise Bennett was born in Wiltshire, in the southwest of England. After studying literature and drama at the University of Roehampton in London, she moved to Galway. Her short fiction and essays have been published in The Stinging Fly, The Penny Dreadful, The Moth, Colony, The Irish Times, The White Review and gorse. In 2013 she won the inaugural White Review Short Story Prize and received an Arts Council bursary. In 2014 she was awarded a grant from Galway City Council. Pond is her debut collection and it was published by the Stinging Fly Press in April 2015.
