I Can see it still is Liam Horan’s Third book, For more than five decades, Liam has experienced Mayo football from an unusually wide range of perspectives. A lifelong supporter, he has been a player of, at best, average ability, as well as a local and national journalist, club officer, chair of the committee that produced the controversial Mayo GAA Strategic Plan, and communications manager to the Mayo senior football team under two different managements. These roles have brought him into dressing rooms, committee rooms, press boxes and terraces, while his connection to his own club, Ballinrobe, has remained a constant. This book draws on those many experiences, but it is not an official history of Mayo football. Rather, it is a personal account of a county and its football, told through the people, places, events and memories that Liam has encountered throughout his journey. The book comes to light in the warm afterglow of Mayo’s historic success in 2026. Yet, like Mayo’s journey to that famous day, this story has been many years in the making.
