Patrick (Paddy) Bannon is a family man and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 1988/9 and then embarked on a journey of discovery. The greatest discovery is the way he has turned his focus and experience in a crisis situation from danger to opportunity. In this book he offers us some guidelines from his own story that may assist us to transcend our own trauma and crises in living. He helps us to transform the adversity and the mystery of suffering into the Presence of Peace and Joy. We can transcend, i.e. move beyond, our unavoidable suffering and live in the Presence of Shalom. Paddy's shared stories and reflections can assist people on that journey of personal discovery, a journey of faith, hope and trust accompanied by the Grace of Divine Presence. Paddy's conclusion on completion of his journey of discovery is that: Suicide is a permanent unsatisfactory solution to a temporal problem. Shalom through Transcendence is our experience of the Fullness of Being. 'SHALOM' is living in Joy and Peace within DIVINE PRESENCE.
