'A beautifully written story about the strength of love For broadcaster and journalist Evelyn O'Rourke, her joy at becoming a mother to her son, Oisin, was doubled when she discovered that she was pregnant for a second time. However, just one week later, Evelyn's world came crashing down. She had breast cancer, and just when she should have been preparing for motherhood, instead faced months of gruelling lifesaving treatment. In this beautifully written and searingly honest memoir, Evelyn charts her journey through the exhilaration of her pregnancy and the exhaustion and pain of her illness. She writes with honesty and heart about the love she received from those around her, love that would sustain her through the darkest days, and about the decisions she made, to protect her son Ross, and to live for her family. Dear Ross is a story about the strength of love: between families, siblings, a husband and a wife - but, most of all, the unwavering and uncompromising love of a mother for her children.
