Rod Smith

Rod Smith is the author of the Get Out and Play Trilogy (Poolbeg Press), about a nine year old boy, Oscar Rafferty, who loves video games. His Granddad Mick introduces him to GAA, soccer and rugby and Oscar discovers a whole new world of adventure and magic! Rod has worked recently as a storyteller with Eoin Colfer, the Laureate na nÓg, on Once Upon a Place on the Fingal Express. He recently received a first class honours Masters Degree from DCU. Rod was born in Drogheda, and lives in Malahide. His two children have said they are very proud of his writing achievements and now want to know “can they have a dog?!” (Unlikely!)
